"Gallery & Lodge Noichigo is a pleasure to stay at in Hakuba as one is treated as an honoured guest in a warm Japanese family home run by Taka San, his charming wife, and their two personable daughters. Their food, be it traditional Japanese fare, or Western, is simply delicious, and their service is 5 star, yet unobtrusive. The lodge is a short walk, or ski, to the Sakka slopes, from where you can access all the Hakuba ski lifts, and is within easy walking distance of some good Onsens to soak those aching muscles at the end of the day. Although the 2009 season was an early one, the snow, and the weather for the first week of March 2009 was perfect. I intend to return to this lodge again, soon I hope."

"Many thanks again for a lovely weekend. We really enjoyed staying in your hotel and will recommend it highly to other travellers."

"Both Bernard and I agreed that your place provided very friendly and homely environment during our stay.  We did have a really pleasant time staying there and were glad to see Caitlin and Yuto play pretty well.  Your food was so excellent that we still missed sometimes.  Last but not the least,  your father was so kind to give us lifts to onsen, otherwise we would not have enjoyed it as much as we have, especially after a day of skiing.  We always felt the kind hospitality everytime when we returned to your place.  We definitely will come back to stay in your place next time we come back."

"Can't thank you and your family enough for taking such great care of us on our first trip to Japan.  The breakfast was delicious our beds were so comfortable and our room was very cozy and clean. It was so nice to come home from a hard days skiing to be greeted by such warm and happy faces.  We will definitely be back."

"We loved our stay in Hakuba. The forest around your pension is simply beautiful, the most pretty alpine setting we have visited around the world.Walking through the forest to the ski field each morning (only 100 metres or so) with no other people around was almost surreal.  The skiing at Happo was sensational, no lift queues and terrain/snow quality to please all, then at the end of the day we could ski back to the pension doorstep. We also took the free shuttle down to Hakuba 47/Goryu for a day. The first stop is 20 metres up the road from the lodge and the driver turned out to be the owner of a local izakaya who invited us back for dinner!. The pension had a warm and comfortable feel, and your family could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Your dad seemed to be constantly running us around in his van, whether to the ski rental (Spicy rentals is close by and has a wide range of excellent, modern equipment), onsens or restaurants at night. We felt a bit guilty about that (particularly as the local taxis are cheap and quick to arrive), yet your Dad seemed happy to oblige.  We hope to bring our entire family back next year. I look forward to throwing my coins in the "honesty basket" then kicking back and drinking a well-earned beer in your dining room after a day's skiing!"

"We would really like to thank you and your family for a great stay at Noichigo, especially Taka-san for driving us around and being so accommodating. Thanks also for your personal touch and unfailing helpfulness in arranging our transfers, ski passes, lessons, etc for us. We very much enjoyed ourselves."

"The Noichigo Pension is simply lovely.  Run by a immeasurably friendly family, the atmosphere instantly makes you feel at home!  The dining room is filled with big heal thy plants, and there is delightful artwork covering the walls.  The food is wonderful, and after a long day of skiing, there is nothing better than their home cooked meal!  The pension is located high up the mountain, which means very quick and easy access to the slopes.   Highly recommended by us!"

"It is difficult to describe how amazing the experience was at Noichigo. Every morning I woke up to find a delicious breakfast prepared for me. I could chat with the other patrons over an almost family style meal. Dinner time had fine cuisine and a restful atmosphere where friends were abound, people in the Noichigo really accept everyone. The Noichigo is by far the best place I have stayed in all of Japan. I loved it."

"An excellent hotel for a taste of Japanese Hospitality. We had a wonderful stay in the hotel or pension run by the owner, his wife, his daughter and grandson. It's like a cottage. We had a triple room. The owner is an artist where you can view his drawings, mainly flowers in the living/dinning room. As the name suggested, it's a hotel and also his gallery. Free pickup and drop off service at the Hakuba Station. The owner even drove us to and fro to 2 ski slops to play snow, a car ride to view the snowy mountains, Jumping Station and offered to drive us to a natural onsen if we needed a soak. He loan us 3 pairs of snow boots and a snow sledge for my son, at no additional cost. We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast prepared by the owner's wife. You can have internet access at the daughter's computer. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again if I come to Hakuba. It's one of the most enjoyable stay we had in Japan and it's also value for money."

"My wife and I stayed at this English friendly B&B for 2 nights. This is a wonderful family owned business where the hospitality is second to none. The owners will drive you anywhere in Hakuba, pick you up from the train station & drop you off at the train station. They are genuinely kind people who want you to have the best experience. Thank you Makiko, Yuto-chan and parents!
If you are looking for a personal experience in Japan, then this is for you.
PS. make sure you experience at least one home cooked meal!"

"Kevin and I spent our 10th anniversary at Noichigo guesthouse. It was such a memorable experience from start to finish. The guesthouse was idyllic and very homey. Our hosts were friendly, hospitable and extremely helpful. I had a skiing accident and needed to visit the doctor, and they were there for us. Taking us to the doctor and making sure I was alright. The meals we had were also delicious. We just had such as a wonderful time, and we are planning to return next February. Believe or not, we have already booked our tickets to Japan. We wish you and your family every success."
